Our Staff

Justin Chandlr, AAS, CVT, LVT, VTS (Emergency & Critical Care)
Head Veterinary Technician

Justin started out in the veterinary field in 1998, first learning on the job as a veterinary assistant and progressing to veterinary technician in a private clinical practice setting. Justin joined Garden State Veterinary Specialists in May 2007 to pursue his interest in emergency and critical care. There he earned a position as an overnight shift supervisor overseeing the technical staff and helping to mentor new veterinary interns. After years of advanced training and intensive learning, Justin applied for and passed the certification exam for the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians (AVECCT), earning his Veterinary Technician Specialist Certification in Emergency and Critical Care in 2014. Justin’s special interests include trauma, shock, cardiovascular emergencies, critical care anesthesia, and more. He has enjoyed the opportunity to mentor and teach both technicians and veterinarians in topics/procedures related to emergency and critical care. Justin has mentored candidates through the application and examination process for AVECCT, following in the footsteps of those that mentored him. He has also served as a member of the Appeals committee for AVECCT. In 2016, he became the Head Veterinary Technician for Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services.

Barbara Cirruzzo, Office Manager

Our support staff is headed by Office Manager, Barbara Cirruzzo. Ms. Cirruzzo is the friendly face in the high heels! She was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Although a Brooklyn native, she is no stranger to Staten Island, having graduated from St. John Villa Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis College. As office manager of Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services, Barbara is able to merge her professional career with her love of animals. Outside of work, Barbara enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing on the beach, and baking.

Tiffany Rizzi, BS, LVTg, Training Supervisor

Tiffany has been working with animals since she was 14. She always knew she wanted to find a place for herself taking care of animals and veterinary medicine was a great fit for her. Tiffany values knowledge and understanding, so it was not a difficult decision for her to pursue not only her associate degree in veterinary technology, but also her bachelor’s degree as well. She was a leading member of the first BS Veterinary Technology program graduating class at SUNY Delhi in 2020. Tiffany first joined Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services in 2018. Tiffany has a passion for teaching others. She was promoted to Training Supervisor in 2022 to help elevate the level of knowledge, skill, and ability for all members of the veterinary team at GSiVS. To quote Tiffany, “Training is a way for me to give back what my mentors have shared with me.” At home she is a foster mom to needy kittens, helping them to find new homes and happy lives. She has been a foster mom for 10 years and counting now.
